Christina Aguilera Back to Basics CD Review

Susan Harner
I have not always been a big fan of Christina Aguilera, I know I'm sorry, but the genie in a bottle days came when I was pregnant and not feeling so "hip hop groovy" about life (showing my age with that statement aren't I? )

Anyway, she reeled me in with "beautiful" and I downloaded that from Napster way back when it came out. But after hearing "Ain't no Other Man" and Thank You playing on the radio and seeing articles about how this was a soulsy, bluesy, rememberance to the old soul singers I thought "I have to get this album!"

So away I went to Wally world and found it tucked into a bin under 'c' (yeah Walmart is a little weird on how they alphabetize artists) anyway....

I bought the cd, got to my car ripped off all the plastic and popped it into my cd player to listen to on my way home. I flipped in a few songs on the 2nd cd and listened in delight to Candyman. LOVED IT! flipped and skipped my way around both cds once I got home and realized there isnt much on this cd I dont like.

It is Christinas strong voice, but in a little bit of a different way. A little smokier, and little heavier, and a lot more REAL than previous bubblegum pop songs I have heard from her.

I strongly recomend this cd to anyone who loves blasting good music from the stereo and dancing along!
