Christina Aguilera Explains National Anthem Flub at 2011 Superbowl (VIDEO)

Singer Christina Aguilera is taking heat for messing up the National Anthem at Superbowl 2011. She completely left out the line "O'er the ramparts we watched." She also sang, "What so proudly we watched," instead of "What so proudly we hailed."

As Aguilera sang "and the rockets red glare," cheers went up from the crowd. After first thinking that the crowd was cheering for a correctly delivered line, looking at the television showed the troops from Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan.

Today Christina Aguilera explained her mistake. "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place," she said. "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
