Congratulations to first-time mom Christina Applegate and fiancé Martyn LeNoble who welcomed Sadie Grace LeNoble on January 27 in Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement that "Mother and daughter are doing great."

Christina and LeNoble have dated for almost three years and are engaged.

Christina bravely fought breast cancer in 2008 and opted to have a double mastectomy even though cancerous lumps were found in only one breast. Applegate credits her mother, Nancy Priddy who is a repeat breast cancer survivor, for helping her to have such a positive and humorous outlook on something so serious.

And while Applegate and LeNoble are celebrating the birth of their new baby, another high-profile couple has made the news for their custody battle over their little girl.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry are fighting for custody of Nahla, their 2 ½ year old daughter. Berry and Aubry broke up in April, 2010 and since that time the duo have tried to work together with sharing custody.

People is reporting that there is no news on what brought about this latest custody battle, but TMZ.com is reporting that Aubry has regularly complained about Berry's movie career causing him not to be able to be with Nahla.

TMZ also reported in December that Aubry had filed for paternity and that while it appeared that motion was just a formality, it looks like now that there was a good reason for his doing so.

Berry has pulled out of her latest project 'New Year's Eve' which is starting to film in New York this week and will be replaced by Katherine Heigl.

Berry's rep told People, "Halle has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her."

Additionally the rep said, "She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter's father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention."

Hopefully, Berry and Aubry will be able to peacefully work something out for the sake of Nahla.
