Christina Applegate's Cancer

Mammograms at a Free or Reduced Price

Rosa Hayes
Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with cancer according to her publicist, Ame Van Iden. The breast cancer that Christina Applegate has is still in the early ages and at this point it is not life threatening. For those who don't remember Christina Applegate in her early acting career, she was the young ditzy teenager by the name of Kelly Bundy in Married with Children in the late eighties, as reported by HeraldSun.

Christina Applegate was lucky to have caught the breast cancer early so that she can seek the treatment that she needs. There is a reason why doctors recommend that woman go in for a mammogram; if they catch the cancer early the chances of them removing it highly increases.

If you can not afford to have a mammogram done like the one that Christina Applegate had there are still many options for you.

Free mammogram screenings

There are a lot of places that offer woman free mammograms such as the State Health Department. If you pay attention to the news they will often tell you when other clinics are giving free mammograms so that if you have cancer you can catch it early like Christina Applegate did.

Sliding scale mammogram

If you are not able to get into a clinic to have a free mammogram you should consider visiting a clinic that allows you to go in under a sliding scale. A sliding scale is where they base the amount that you pay on a percentage of your income. A lot of free clinics go by a sliding scale and if you make too much to be able to get a free mammogram then you might have to pay a small fee.

Insurance companies

Many insurance companies are now offering free mammograms once a year for woman. Insurance companies started realizing that if a person stays healthy then they will use their insurance less frequently. There are also other things that your insurance company might offer but you would need to check with them to see and take advantage of everything free that they will give you.

Having a mammogram just like Christina Applegate had is one way of making sure that you can live a much happier and longer life.

Always loved Kelly Bundy; perhaps her experience, and your article, will encourage other women to have regular mammograms.
