Christina Hendricks to Play Lois Lane, Hot Teacher

Christina Hendricks is going to be playing Lois Lane and a hot teacher in two upcoming projects. Recently Christina Hendricks talked about her wonderful desire to play Wonder Woman, but for now superhero fans will have to be satisfied with Christina Hendricks lending her voice to Lois Lane for the direct-to-video "All-Star Superman".

Of course it would be much more entertaining to see a new live-action version of Superman starring Christina Hendricks as Lois Lane, and of course Jon Hamm would be the perfect man to play the man of steel (now that's one reboot I actually would shell out the big bucks to see in 3D). But despite fanboys disappointment at not seeing Christina Hendricks as a live-action Lois Lane, they've got to appreciate the fact that Christina Hendricks took the time to do such a geeky project (she becomes and more of a fanboy's dream by the day; did I mention she knows how to make whiskey cocktails and something called "bacon soup"?).

Anyway, if Christina Hendricks fans can wait just a little longer, they will get to see her play a sexy teacher in "Detachment" sometime this year. Okay, so I don't know if her character is supposed to be sexy in the movie yet, but Christina Hendricks could play the Elephant Man and ooze sex appeal (although you probably lost your craving for bacon soup with that line). I do know the "Mad Men" star will be playing a teacher named Mrs. Madison in the movie, which stars Adrien Brody as a substitute teacher that goes from school to school, sharing his wisdom but never sticking around long enough to really connect with anyone. The all-star cast of 'Detachment' also includes Bryan Cranston, Marcia Gay Harden, James Caan, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, Tim Blake Nelson and William Petersen (so come for Christina Hendricks; stay to see the rest of this awesome crew in action).

While I'm sure a lot of guys (and girls) are already getting "hot for teacher" over this one, I'm just glad to see that Christina Hendricks is slowly making a name for herself in the movie biz (although I still don't understand why anyone in their right mind would cast her in a movie like "Life as We Know It" just to kill her off ASAP). Anyway, she's not Wonder Woman just yet, but perhaps Christina Hendricks is getting just a little bit closer to possibly squeezing into her star-spangled suit.
