The 94th Columbus Ohio Statehouse Holiday Tree Lighting and Festival is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at the Ohio Statehouse on High Street at State Street downtown. This free Christmas activity includes caroling, delicious food items, model trains and Santa Claus.

Christmas Activities in Columbus, Ohio #2

The annual A Season of Giving - City Hall Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place this year on Thursday, December 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at Columbus City Hall on Broad Street Plaza. The 40-foot tall Norway Spruce is a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Ernest & Barbara Burleson, who live in the Rocky Rill Road neighborhood in North Columbus. This event is free and open to the public.

The Holiday Lights Tour is a unique and very fun way to see the lights and decorations of downtown Columbus, Ohio. Rent a Segue and travel in style beginning December 2, 2009 through the end of the year at 6 p.m. This Christmas activity is located at the Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio and the tour takes about an hour and a half. The cost is $40 per rider, training is included and the helmet plays holiday music as you glide thorough the city.

A don't miss of the holiday season is COSI's Holiday Science of the Season http://www.cosi.org/visitors/coming-attractions/holiday starting November 28, 2009 through January 4th, 2010. The event is located on 333 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio and is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The kids will love the Holiday Light Show featuring 10.000 twinkling lights powered by a "reindeer-powered" generator. Admission is $19.75 for adults and $14.95 for the kids.

The Ohio Village presents a Victorian Christmas just as Charles Dickens would have seen it. On December 11-12, 18-19 and 20, 2009 you can immerse yourself and your family in a Dickens of a Christmas located at the Ohio Historical Center, 1982 Velma Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Admission is $12 for adults and $9 for kids, if you have a membership there is $2 off regular prices. Dickens's characters are brought to life in this recreation that includes cooking lessons, caroling, decorations, street vendors and hands-on crafts.

Additional Christmas activities in Columbus, Ohio include the Columbus Symphony Chorus Holiday Pops 2009 on December 4, 2009 and December 5, 2009 at 8 p.m. and December 6, 2009 at 3 p.m. Located at the Ohio Theatre on 55 East State Street and on Sunday after the performance Santa Claus will visit. Or try the Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium from November 20, 2009 to January 02, 2010 every Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. 10 p.m.
