Christmas Candy Ornaments - Edible Tree Decorations

The Christmas Yummy Tree

G.N.K.
Christmas should be fun, and full of goodies right? Well, why not make your tree an edible tree filled with yummies, candy, chocolate surprises and more? You can also hang ornaments from the trees as well, along with candies, dried healthy fruits such as cranberries, apricots, raisins, dried cherries and more, either hanging in the open or hiding behind the tree, making your little ones an guest guess which ornaments are hiding treats.

To make the candy Christmas tree, here is what you'll need and what you'll need to do:

1.) Go to the grocery store and purchase clear plastic baggies and plastic ties. it would be nice to use baggies that have Christmas colors and that are festive!

2.) Pick up dried fruits, candies, gummy bears and or worms, nuts, and chocolates.

3.) Christmas ribbon in red, gold, green, white and gold.

4.) Types of candy to purchase are: m&m's, gummy bears & sour gummy worms, chocolate covered nuts, hershey's kisses, tiny candy bars, trailmix, cashews, and any type of candy of tiny snacks that you may think will excite your guests and children. Make sure that candies are sealed in plastic wrappers.

5.) Spare Change: yes, put money into the bags for the kids. Take $20.00 and get change!

Instructions:

1.) Take 20 or more of the sandwich or decorative baggies and ribbon.

2.) Pre-cute ribbon lengths to about 8 inches.

3.) Take the candy and insert 1-2 pieces of each type of candy into bags.

4.) It's better to put more healthy items in bags than to put mostly candy.

5.) You can either make all candy bags and hang them from the highest point of the tree and hang the lower items

6.) Tie the bags with red, green, silver and gold ribbon.

7.) Take the spare change and stuff it into the candy bags with sealed candy.

That should add fun to the Christmas tree!

Cookie & Mini Muffin Bags:

You can also do the same with cookies! Go to the store and buy tiny Christmas cookies, like the mini's that you see in the baking section of your store and stuff them with cookies and baked good as well. You would also use the same steps that you used for the candy bags as well. Why not bake your own mini cookies and muffins as well?

Caramel Popcorn Tree Bags:

Everyone loves caramel popcorn right? Why not make healthy popcorn bags for your guest to swipe from the tree as a snack? You can use gourmet popcorns and nearly any type of assortments. You can choose from several types of popping corn and you can even pop your own!

Trail mix Bags:

Place Trail mix and fruit into bags for those that are health conscious and aren't fans of candy. I would recommend going to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for the best snacks. You may even find other healthy treats to stuff in your Christmas tree bags.

Christmas Toy Bags:

Why not place tiny trinkets and toys such as race cars, dolls, and Barbie doll clothes, into bags for your guest and for children as well? Go to your local drug store and see what they have to offer. However, make sure that the trinkets that you select are safe and that children do not place items into mouth.

NOTE: Make sure to hang the tasty treats and surprizes on tree the night before Christmas in a place where the child can easily reach with your supervision, so that your little ones such as tots will not be tempted to climb tree. If you have small children, make sure that you tell them not to climb the tree.
