Christmas Candy Wreath Recipe

With some ordinary cornflakes and cinnamon candy, you can whip up a "Candy Christmas Wreath. Just remember that if it cools too fast, use hot water to keep the doughy pliable. With the following recipe, you'll be able to serve 1 and 1/2 dozen of these scrumptious candied ornaments.

INGREDIENTS:

30 large marshmallows

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons green food coloring

2 tablespoons cinnamon red hot candies

4 cups cornflakes cereal

DIRECTIONS:

Set the heat on your stovetop to low and melt the butter in a good sized saucepan. First, add the marshmallows and let them melt and become gooey, but not burnt. Make sure to stir them occasionally. At his point, remove from heat, and pour in the food coloring, vanilla and corn flakes while stirring.

Immediately plop healthy sized tablespoons of your batter onto some waxed paper and use your hands to mold into a wreath shape. Lightly greasing up your fingers should help prevent the delicious "goo" from sticking to your hands.

Quickly sprinkle "Red Hot" candies for decorative purposes. Allow this concoction to sit on the wax paper to cool to room temperature before transferring to an airtight container where you can save until serving after Christmas dinner.
