Don't let the small size of your college dorm room keep you from decorating for Christmas. This article will provide you some suggestions for adding to your holiday cheer by decorating your college dorm room.
Mistletoe; First things first. If you have a co-ed dorm, you have to have mistletoe. I suggest having it just inside your door. If not there, then in the center of your room.
Garland; You can place it around your entrance door both inside and out. You can also go around your closet or bathroom door. Windows and bookshelves are also an excellent location for garland.
Holiday lights; String your LED lights from corner to corner on your ceiling. This would make like an X at the center of your college dorm room ceiling. If you have extra strings of lights, use the corners of your dorm room. You can run them from the ceiling to the floor in your room corners.
Frosting; You can use artificial window frosting on your windows and mirrors. You might even try some colored frosting. Christmas colors are not only red and green. Holiday colors include gold, silver, blue, purple and plaid.
Min-tree; Although you are limited on space, you could still find a place for a mini-tree. A simple small decorated tree can be placed on a window sill, bookshelf or floor cabinet. Always place your tree away from room traffic.
Holiday cards; You can place your holiday cards on the foot or head boards of your bed. You can also go around window and door frames. If you entertain guests, you want to show off your cards.
Select a theme; Some students enjoy a theme for the holidays. Themes could be of angels, Santa's, snowmen, animals and Victorian items. If you are of the Christian, a small nativity scene would look good on a dresser or chest of drawers.
Ornaments; Unless you have a large tree, ornaments need to be secured to a rope or wire. You could string them across the center of a window.
Things to avoid; You don't want candles, unless they are enclosed. Large items take up space and can make your room too gaudy. You also want to keep small and expensive figurines put away. They can easily break or be stolen.
Rule of thumb; Small rooms call for simplistic colorful decor. Don't miss out on this opportunity to decorate your college dorm room. Remember, you are only here for a few years. It could be a very enjoyable experience.

Everybody needs a break before or after exams. Great topic.
Hows about a big LSU flag with lights all around it? hehe
Thanks
