1. Gift-wrapped door: What's more Christmasy than wrapping your doors in gift wrap? Chances are, you have spare wrapping paper and ribbon sitting about. Measure your door, and cut out that much wrapping paper for it. Use heavy duty tape or extra tape, to make sure the gift wrap doesn't come off. Once you're done, add a ribbon. If you want to take it further, you can treat the gift wrap as a collage, and tape or glue holiday pictures, etc. to it.
2. Jingle bells: Not just for looks, but for a sound effect, too, hang some jingle bells around your door knob. You can buy them on a ring to place around your door, or you can tie them with festive red and green ribbons. It's perfect for if you're busy, and want to be alerted when someone's entering your home, too.
3. Window clings: Available at sites like Oriental Trading, these harmless plastic clings stick to your storm door's window for the holidays. Just make sure you have some patience. If not moist enough, these won't take grip, and can fall down. Most of the time, they stay though. I personally like the snowflake ones, because it makes it look like it's snowing outside.
4. Christmas wreath: The most obvious choice for a Christmas door decoration, would be a wreath. You can purchase them pre-made in department and craft stores, or my suggestion--make your own. You can purchase a plain wreath at a craft supplier, and decorate it with any theme you want-- such as faux holly leaves and berries and silver and gold bells. The possibilities are endless!
5. Holiday Doorbell: Okay, so it's not exactly a decoration, but it goes with your door. If you or someone you know can replace a pre-existing doorbell, try purchasing a doorbell like the one found at Musical Doorbell. This one has songs for year-round, but features a holiday list. Install this, and you can listen to Christmas music every time someone arrives at your home.
If you like these ideas, feel free to use them to spruce up your home for the holidays, even more!
