Christmas Eve Chruch Services in the Atlanta Area

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day church services are among the most treasured holiday traditions for many families. The spiritual closeness that a congregation provides, especially on holidays, is a welcome calm in the midst of so much hurry and stress during the season.

If you're looking for a new Christmas service to attend in the Atlanta, Georgia area, here are a few churches who have listed their holiday schedules.

The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is located at 731 Peachtree St. NE, in Atlanta, Georgia 30308. They are planning Christmas Eve Services titled "From the Heart of God _ Christmas." The 12:00 p.m. Christmas Worship service will be given by Pastor Michael Foss.

At 3:30 p.m. the Family and Children's Christmas Worship will be presented by Pastor Debra Samuelson. The 6:00 p.m. Christmas Worship service with the Redeemer Jazz Trio will take place, at 8:30 p.m. the Christmas Candlelight Festival Worship is scheduled, and lastly at 11:00 p.m. another Christmas Candlelight Festival Worship service will occur.

The Unity North Atlanta Church is located in East Cobb at 4255 Sandy Plains Road, just 5 minutes from Roswell and Hwy. 92. They are having several holiday services this year.

The Travelers Christmas Candle lighting Service will be held there on Wednesday, December 20th at 7:30 pm. Reverends Nancy and Bill Worth will speak on the sermon "Away on Christmas Eve?" No child care available for this service.

On Christmas Eve Day, Sunday, December 24th there will be one service at 11:15 am. Childcare will be available for infants and toddlers.

"Christmas Eve Gala Services" will take place on Sunday, December 24th. There will be two services at 6:00 and again at 8:00 pm. This will be the annual Candle lighting service. Penelope Williams will lead the concert with the Unity North Choir and Ensemble. There will be childcare available for infants and toddlers at 6:00 service only.

Finally, to close out the 2006 year, the church will have a "World Healing Meditation" on
Sunday, December 31st at 7:00 am. This event is in it's 21st year. Participants around the world gather at the same time to pray for world peace. Breakfast will be served after and there is no childcare available.

The New Year's Eve Day Service will be held on Sunday, December 31st. One service will take place at 11:15 am.

There will be a New Year's Eve Burning Bowl Service on Sunday, December 31st at 6:00 pm. Traditionally, this holiday service is a chance to bid good-bye to things in your life that no longer have a place and start fresh for the new year. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers.

The Briarcliff Baptist Church is located at 3039 Briarcliff Road, Northeast of Atlanta. They will be hosting the "Nativity Suites - Third Sunday of Advent" evening worship service at 6:00 p.m. The Sanctuary Choir and Members of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra will perform during that evening's worship service. Before the celebration, church attendees are encouraged to make an offering of soaps and towels to give to the Atlanta Union Mission group.

There will also be a Candlelight Communion and Christmas Eve Worship Service at 5:30 p.m.
