You are lucky enough to spend Christmas holiday in the magical city of Orlando. Besides the theme parks, Orlando has an abundance of churches. Several churches were good enough to provide a wealth of information for Christmas Eve and more. Since this is Orlando and a tourist destination, there's a suggestion that you arrive early for parking. Unless noted, there is no child care or refreshments indicated.

St. Francis Anglican Church - 2525 Fortune Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34744

Fr. Jim Reber D.D., Vicar provided useful information. St. Francis is a Catholic Church in that they believe that in Christ all believers are united. It's a Reformed Church in that they are identified with the Protestant Reformation.

St. Francis will be having a Eucharistic candlelight Christmas Eve service at 11:00 P.M. (Midnight mass) Coffee with refreshments and fellowship will follow the service.

Christmas Day Service with communion will be at 10:00 A.M. Fellowship, coffee and refreshments will follow.

St. Phillip's Anglican Church is an Anglican Mission church. Family Christmas Eve Services will be held at Vista Lakes Elementary School 6050 Lake Champlain Dr, Orlando, Fl 32829 at 5 P.M. All family, friends and neighbors are invited.

National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe is a Roman Catholic Church. Located at 8300 Vineland Avenue,Orlando, Florida 32821

The National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe is located in Orlando, FL off I-4 near Disney and other tourist attractions. There is no childcare.

The Christmas Eve masses are as follows: 6:00 P.M. There is a Vigil Mass with a Mass at Midnight as well according to Susan Kimmel, Executive Assistant to the Rector. If you are planning to attend the Midnight Mass Ms. Kimmel suggest that you arrive at least one hour before. The Christmas day mass schedule is: 7:30 A.M., 9:30 A.M., 11:30 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.

Ms. Kimmel wanted to make you aware that the choir will be present at the 9:30 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. masses on Christmas day. Communion is distributed at every mass. There is no dinner or coffee hour before or after the masses on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. However, they do serve donuts and coffee after the 7:30 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. masses on Sundays if you are in town.

New Years Eve the mass will be at 6:00 p.m. and on New Year's Day the masses are the same as Sunday: 7:30 A.M., 9:30 A.M., 11:30 A.M. & 6:00 P.M.

Additionally, Ms. Kimmel noted that on Friday, December 5th, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. they are having a Christmas Open House. There will be special purchases, raffles, and surprise discounts in our Gift Shop. Complimentary refreshments and Christmas cookies will be served. Also, a visual representation of Christmas customs from around the world will be presented in the Museum. The Open House is followed by The Christmas Concert with the Shrine Choir. They will perform music from the Advent and Christmas season featuring the choir, brass and hand bells, along with a holiday sing-a-long. Open House is free. Tickets for the concert are $9.00, children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available at the Shrine Gift Shop or at the door.

The area around the church can get jammed with traffic since there is a shopping mall next door. There is usually police in the area. The main church has 2000 seats, a museum, relaxing walkways, fountains and outdoor gardens provides a visitor with an ideal place to meditate and reflect.

Community Church meets at the Celebration High School auditorium (Just off of I-4 @ Exit 62). Nursery* available as indicated by * Mr. George Crippen, Office Administrator stated that the 11 P.M. service is the most crowded. There are no dinner or coffee hours on Christmas Eve.
