My big blue eyes are now closed
What will day light bring.
I prayed he could come
From Afghanistan to me
On Christmas morning.
Mom's playing carols
I can feel her tear drops fall
Softly, quietly.
Tree lights still shining
Our moon smiles upon us all
I hear the snow crunch.
Church was so lovely
Decorations - stars and all
Silent Night - for him.
Dad did you hear me
I'm hoping you saw our moon
And sang Silent Night.
My pillow holds tears
I have been keeping inside
Now sleep steals my thoughts.
Angels sing all night
Sle ep in hea ven ly peace
Mom cuddles near me.
