Christmas Events at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

Theme Parks are great places to spend Christmas with the family. Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida has amazing Christmas celebrations going on right now. If you will be in the Orlando area and you love Christmas, Disney World is the place to visit.

Christmas Events in Hollywood Studios Theme Park
From November 10th to January 4th, Hollywood Studios theme park in Disney is home to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Millions of lights are hung from the houses and store fronts in the Streets of America section of the theme park. When the sun sets, the streets glow with brilliant colors and snow is blown from the rooftops. There is also a very large Christmas tree and Earth, both made from lights, towering over the area. The lights dance in synchronized motion to the Christmas songs. I was at Hollywood Studios on the opening night and it is truly beautiful. The light show is included with the regular park admission.

Christmas Events in the Magic Kingdom Theme Park
On selected nights from November 10th to December 18th, the Magic Kingdom is having its Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party event. Featured in the party is entertainment by Disney characters, meet and greet with the characters, a parade with Santa Claus, and fireworks. They also advertise complementary hot chocolate and cookies. The event starts at 7pm and ends at midnight. You need to purchase a separate ticket for the party, as it is not included with regular Magic Kingdom admission. Ticket prices are about $53.00 for children ages 3-9 and $59.00 for older kids and adults. Check out the dates and special discounts here. If you order tickets early, you may a discount.

Christmas Events in Epcot Theme Park
Epcot hosts the special Holidays around the World from November 27th to December 30th. It features storytellers in each country of its World Showcase. The storytellers explain Christmas and holiday traditions in their respective country. The most popular event of Epcot's Christmas celebration is the Candlelight Processional. On selected nights, a different celebrity narrator tells the story of Christmas in the American Gardens Theater. It also features a 50 piece orchestra and a choir. Disney offers Candlelight packages that include dinner, guaranteed seating for the Processional and fireworks viewing. Prices vary and the dinner packages are not included in the regular admission. You can call (407) WDW-DINE for information and reservations.

Besides the special events, each one of the parks is decorated beautifully for the season. You certainly do not need to purchase an extra ticket to experience the magic of Christmas at Disney. Whether you take in one the special events or just want to walk around each theme park to see the Christmas decorations, Disney World in Orlando is a wonderful place to visit for the holidays.
