Visa Gift Cards:
These gift cards are great for literally anyone. An excellent gift for the college student away from home to buy their books, supplies, emergencies or other needs. With the rising cost of college tuition, and expenses, this will help them out in the finances department. Also, the versatility of using the card where ever Visa is accepted, is an added bonus. You can purchase them in the amounts of $25 on up. Some banks, if you have an account, do not charge. Others may charge a small fee like $3.00 to activate. You can purchase these at any bank, Walgreen's, or CVS.
Gas Card:
Another great gift card for the college student, Grandparents, or even your son or daughter who has a car. You can feel at ease, knowing that they can use this to fill their tank once or twice depending on the amount of the card you buy. These are especially good for someone who is a little thin in the money department. You can buy these at any Walgreen's, CVS ,or local gas station.
Phone Card:
This is great for the college student, Grandparents, and your son or daughter who is in the military. Many sites that supply care packages to our GI's, have letters from soldiers requesting these. Again, the amount can be 150 minutes on up to 500 minutes. If you watch the sales, many times you can purchase these for a buy one get one free. The nice part about the phone gift card is, not only saving them money on long distance calling, but to get a long over due call from them. These phone cards are available at any Walgreen's, CVS, Dollar General, and many gas stations.
Food Gift Certificates:
Ever drive past a Tim Hortons before 8 AM ? Notice the long lines in the restaurants during the lunch rush? With the rising cost of living, it is hard for the college student who studies alot, and maybe works, to find time to cook, or eat right. Giving them a gift card to any restaurant like, Subway, or Tim Hortons, allows them to eat on the run, and save money on side. You can purchase any restaurant gift card in the place of business, or in large grocery stores.
Grocery Store:
This is such an ideal gift card, as you can generously give it to Grandparents, or anyone you may know who is on a fixed income, and can use a little help, but is too proud to ask. This gift card option is nice way to help out with the rising cost of groceries. You can purchase gift cards in the amounts of $15 on up. You can purchase these at any Grocer.
Many gift cards, and Visa gift cards offer the top up option on them. So if you want to add money to them, you can. Any one of these gift cards, or Visa gift cards is a Christmas gift they will surely enjoy and appreciate, especially with the cost of living on the rise, and so many people having lost their employment, and money is tight. Sometimes this gift card option allows you to reach out help, without placing the recipient in an awkward position.
