· GPS Navigator ($200+)
GPS navigators have become an increasingly popular gadget inside all vehicles. They provide detailed directions and maps, and can save a lot of time when on a road trip. Any car lover that travels and does a lot of road trips will find this gift very helpful. Price varies on the screen size, model, and how many features it has, some can be as much as $800.
· Emergency Roadside Kit ($40+)
Everyone should have an Emergency Roadside Kit in the trunk of their vehicle. Many are packaged in small convenient carry cases and don't take up a lot of room. The typical Roadside Kit will usually contains important car emergency equipment such as a flashlight, jumper cables, tow rope, flares, electrical tape, screwdriver, and a first aid kit. This is a great gift suggestion for any new driver - hopefully they won't have to use it in an emergency, but if they do, they'll be quite thankful.
· Remote Start System ($50+, plus installation)
Having a remote start system installed in a car is a great way to keep out of the cold during winter months until the car is completely warmed up. Remote start systems are generally quite affordable - ask a car dealer or local mechanic about installation.
· Portable Jump Starter ($50+)
Its never fun to become stranded after your battery has died in your car, whether your late for work or on your way to meet someone, it can be super frustrating to find out that your car refuses to start. Having a portable Jump Starter is very convenient and can prevent a stressful situation of trying to get someone to give you a jump or waiting for a tow truck to give you a jump. Most need to be recharged overnight every few months and range in power and battery life, on average they weigh 25 lbs.
· Customized Floor Mats ($30+)
For some, driving a car is more than getting from point-a to point-b, and usually expresses the sort of personality one has, customized floor mats are a must for anyone who loves cars. Customizing a car mat can be as simple as having a name or sports team embroidered, lots of different materials are available - plush, vinyl, all-weather, etc.
· Radar Detector ($200+)
Alright, so maybe the car lover you know owns a 600hp Lamborghini or maybe they just have a habit of driving a bit too fast? Radar detectors are used to detect radar units (aka radar guns) used by law enforcement. Be sure to check whether or not radar detectors are legal in your state or country prior to purchasing one, heavy fines are usually enforced if illegal.
· Portable DVD Player ($100+)
A portable DVD player is a great gift idea for drivers with children and ones who take long road trips. Most portable DVD players can be mounted to the back of the headrest on the seats in front and usually include a car charger that can be plugged into the car's cigarette lighter port.
· Custom Gift Basket
Making a Custom Gift Basket compiled of small car knick knacks will show you truly put effort into the gift and made it personal, even if the items aren't all that special. Stuff a gift basket with air fresheners, car shampoo, shop towels, key chains, leather cleaner, and other automotive supplies, wrap cellophane around the basket and you've created your own Custom Car Basket.
Giving a car-related gift for Christmas is a great idea, whenever they use their gift, they will remember who gave it to them. If you just don't know what they may or may not like, giving a gift card to them for a car supply shop may be easier, gift cards leave the choosing up to the receiver.

Portrait session with their car, includes a 16x24" framed print, 11x17" coffee table book of his car with detail shots and restoration pics, and a DVD documentary of their shoot in the studio and commentary along with a bit of history on their car.
Emergency roadside kit should be first on the list.
