Christmas Gift Ideas for Husbands

Shopping for any gift is hard. But when it some to Christmas gifts, it's even harder. You have more than one to buy and with all the commercial hype, the pressure is on you. First rule: Don't wait until the last minute. I know by nature men like to wait. That only means more crowds and less to choose.

First there are three no-no categories that we will call no-no gifts. If you want your gift to be special you should not buy these, unless your Lady comes straight out and says this is what she wants. If she asks for something you know she really want its.

No-No 1. Never buy household stuff, that means appliances and cookware items, too. Sure she may notice how shiny that new pot is and will probably say she loves it. But deep down, she will probably want to throw it at you.

No-No 2. Candles. Candles smell nice and may adorn your home. But they are too generic.

No-No 3. Collectibles and knick-knacks. After a woman has owned a home for five years or more, they usually have a house full of these items. Collectibles, like angels, cats, etc are always sweet. But beware of buying these. If she has been collecting for years, she may have too many and no space for them. Then they become a no-no.

Now here's a list of ten ideas of what you could buy. Remember when shopping use your imagination, think of how much you love your Lady, how much you can spend and try to be thoughtful.

1. PERFUME - Ladies all love to smell delicious and sexy. If you don't know her favorite brands, ask her. Better yet, ask a sales clerk about some of the new fragrances. And always smell the samples yourself. Chances are if you don't like it, neither will your Lady.

2. A SUBSCRIPTION TO NET-FLEX, BLOCKBUSTER, ETC. - With this subscription your Lady can rent DVD's from the comfort of your home via the computer, no standing in lines. Just keep the microwave popcorn handy.

3. STATIONERY - - Buy various styles with envelopes for both the computer and the old fashioned hand written letters.

4. SLIPPERS OR SOME WARM FUZZY SOCKS - No matter what climate you live-in, there are sure to be cool nights when your Lady's toes will get cold.

5. A SOFT VELVETY THROW - In the cool evenings your Lady can stay warm. Better yet, you both could snuggle underneath this together. Hint, a throw is a blanket used for cuddling, a tad smaller than a blanket for your bed.

6. A SUBSCRITPION TO I-TUNES, etc - Recording MP3's are the current rage. Signed your Lady up with a membership. You could even start by recording some of the favorites you both listened to Back in the Day and throw in a new MP3 Player, if the cost is within your budget.

7. MASSAGE - -Stress fills all of our lives. So how about buying a few sessions for your Lady with the local massage therapist? Or if you have great hands, buy some oil and give the massage to her yourself. Either way, she will be purring like a kitty.

8. JEWELRY - -Of course you can never go wrong with the bling. But know your Lady's style if you go this route or the sparkle may just collect dust.

9. LINGERE - Yes, both men and women like lingerie. But be honest. Size and style does matter here. A possible solution, buy a pretty silk scarf, place it in a nice box, along with a gift card from your Lady's favorite Lingerie store. Then you both will be happy.

10. A HOME-MADE GIFT FROM THE HEART - -This would mean you actually will have to do some work, according to your talents. If you can build, a nice chest or table is always nice. If you can write, Lady's always love poetry written for them. Plus, a gift from the heart, from you, made by you, will always be reason for your Lady to brag about you and will be remembered for years.
