Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Little Ballerina

Lisa Riggs
Ballet is a beautiful and graceful dance that originated thousands of years ago. The most popular dances of today have all evolved in some way or another from ballet. If you have a little ballerina in your life who eats, sleeps and breathes this gorgeous dance, surprise her this Christmas with one of these delightful gifts.

Redo Her Room in a Ballerina Theme. She will surely love have her bedroom transformed to reflect her love of this dance. Paint the walls a pale pink, and hang several posters of famous dancers. Create a special corner where she can practice her positions and twirls to her heart's content. This project will take at least a few days after purchasing all the necessary supplies, so plan on getting started at least a week before Christmas. If you would like to involve the little ballerina in the planning process, include her in choosing the paint color, decorations and new bedding. This can be a fun project to enjoy over the winter break.

Pay for Her Lessons. Money is tight for most of us these days, so the little dancer's parents may just not be able to swing the fee right now. You can give the check to her family directly or make it a surprise by contacting the dance studio and making payment arrangements. The wonderful part of this gift is that allows her to continue enjoying her dance lessons long after Christmas day is over.

Create a Ballet Inspired Gift Bag. All ballet dancers need shoes, dance wear and a bag to carry back and forth to the studio. A brand new dance bag can be filled with these necessary items. She will love to start off the new year with brand new dance gear.

Get Tickets to a Ballet. If you live near a large city that has ballet performances, fill her holiday stocking with tickets to a live performance. This is often a dream of little ballerinas, but the cost involved puts it out of reach for many. You can make a day of it with lunch in the city and a bit of shopping afterward. Not only are you giving this little girl a day to remember, you are also offering the both of you a chance to connect in a very meaningful way.

Buy Her Recital Costume. Every ballet class ends the year with a lovely recital. Unfortunately, the cost of the recital costume and head piece can be quite pricey. Ensure that she can partake in this recital by covering the costs associated with the event.

Go Her Ballet Performance and Bring Flowers. Little ballerinas love to show off their talent and skills to people they love. Attending her performance and offering her a bouquet of flowers when she comes off stage will please her in many ways. She will surely remember the love and support you showed her in the early years of her love of ballet.
