Christmas is Coming! Make Your Gifts Look Pretty!

Abigail Beal
Christmas will soon be upon us. We all know this means mountains of presents - and all of these presents need to be gift wrapped!

Fortunately there are so many pretty ways you can gift wrap your presents now. You can find literally any type of gift wrap that pleases you by doing an internet search. Most major stores sell lots of gift wrap during the holiday time. Sometimes the biggest challenge is narrowing down exactly what you will gift wrap with. Here are several themes and styles you could select from that will look very festive for Christmas morning.

A great tip with gift wrapping is to purchase all of your accessories from the same place. So to get your ribbon, gift tags and other accessories where you get your gift wrap - as they will have a variety of colors and patterns that compliment the gift wrapping that you are purchasing. This will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Metallics. Metallic gift wrap shimmers and shines. You can find this in patterns or solids. Gold, bronze, silver and a rainbow of metallic colors. But what most tend to use for Christmastime is gold and silver in different variations. You can combine the gold and silver, or use gold and silver with other colors. Gold can look beautiful with ivory ribbon and a sprig of pine or holly tucked under the bow. Silver can look so very merry with a deep green ribbon and a shiny Christmas ornament hanging from the bow.

Red and Green. This is a classic Christmas combination and many gift wrapping papers are offered in this style. You can find patterns and images with these colors galore. This can be a great fun kids' wrap or a fancy, elegant wrap for a present given between adults or families. Metallic papers are a great way to make your gifts look a bit fancier. Bold prints look the brightest for the holidays. There are many choices; a lot of it depends on your style. There are also some very pretty Victorian style gift wrapping papers.

Blue and White. This is a pretty combination that you will see often for the holidays. Sometimes this theme has a snowflake theme combined because blue and white are the perfect colors for snowflakes to be considered for this. Another very cute theme for these colors is penguins, with the March of the Penguins movie that came out several years ago - penguins have been very popular lately in gift wrapping and in other items. Polar bears are another popular blue and white themed image to find in gift wrapping. These can be adorable to wrap kids' presents in or to do your family's presents in.

Cartoon Characters. For some people, it wouldn't be Christmas without Disney paper or Snoopy paper or Bugs Bunny gift wrapping paper. These popular cartoon pals are often seen on special holiday gift wrapping that is out just for the holidays in red and green themed gift wrapping. This is a gift wrap that is just as popular with adults as it is with children, as many adults remember fondly a cartoon character from their childhoods.

Save the trees, both the ones used in the home and those for the paper ripped to shreds when opening the stuff, and just say "No" to Christmas and the materialism it so richly promotes and so many people feel compelled to participate in. The whole Christmas fiasco is aimed at guilt ridden Christian mentality folks to go out and shop til they drop, max out their credit cards so the retail industry can make their fortune. How sad.
