Christmas Gifts for $5 or Less

Dana
Five dollars is not a whole lot of money, unless of course you don't have any! With Christmas on the horizon shopping is in the air. Shopping on a budget can be difficult but it is not impossible. A little creativity and research can go a long way. I have come up with a few gift ideas that cost five dollars or less.

Gift cards are probably the easiest route. You don't want to go with something like Outback Steakhouse if you are spending $5. It just won't go very far. There are many options for $5 gift cards though.

Auntie Anne's Pretzels. I have bought $5 gift cards to this shop for children many times. They love to buy the flavored pretzels and pay for it themselves using their own "credit card."

Blockbuster. Five dollars will rent a movie or game for a week in my hometown.

iTunes. Perfect for the music loving, MP3 player owning individual.

Starbucks. A latte or just a nice cup of coffee could ease a stressful day for someone.

Fast Food. Many fast food places offer gift cards. It's a rare person that doesn't ever eat fast food. In fact I think I only know one personally that doesn't eat French fries.

Ring tones. T-Mobile offers their customers the option to gift ring tones to other subscribers when they make a purchase. They cost between $1.99 and $2.99 a piece and you don't even have to gift wrap it!

Dove, Godiva, Ghirardelli...need I say more? Chocolate is delicious and you can pick it up fairly inexpensively. Candy is a good option.

Are you good with photography? A framed photograph easily costs less than five dollars. This gift is personal and unique.

Small photo albums are a good idea. Especially for grandparents. You may even have the photographs in your home already making this gift cost even less. Enlist others in your family to donate pictures too.

Everyone has heard of dollar stores, but there is also such as store called Five Below. Everything in the store costs five dollars or less. They carry items for your house, books and toys. You are bound to find some good deals in this store. As of right now I believe these stores are only located in the North Eastern United States. If you live in that area it would serve you well to look up Five Below.

Five dollars may not buy an expensive gift, but it can buy a nice one. "It's the thought that counts" is a true statement. With some thought I am sure you will find the perfect gift for everyone on your list no matter what the budget.

All of these are great ideas, I'll have to try a few.
