Christmas Gifts on a Budget

Using Your Printer to Create a Customized Gift

Esper_D
Don't have a lot of cash but still need to get someone a gift? I bet there's something lying around the house that would work as a gift. Some of these gifts require some printing off your computer, so be sure to have that handy.

Tip: Only give these gifts to fun-loving people who appreciate a good homemade gift or gift from the heart.

Here's a list of ideas that might help:

Pennies!

Pennies? Yes, pennies! Take an old mason jar and fill it with pennies, or at least half way. Cut a slit through the lid so they can drop more in. Tie a ribbon around the neck. Head over to Avery.com and print up a customizable label for your jar. You can write a customizable note to the person you are giving it to or just embed a wonderful image that represents your friendship. One fun idea might be labeling it "New Shoes Jar". See their templates at: Click here

Customized CD:

You can customize this cd with any media that will make your friend smile. One idea is loading it with photos and videos of good times you have had together. Be sure to organize it into folders on the cd to make it easier for your friend to view. Another idea is creating a music playlist he or she can take into their car and jam out to on the road. When you are done burning a cd, go to Avery and print out a customized cd cover label.

Memory Box:

Take any box that has a lid, like a shoebox. Go to Avery.com and download any template that fits the size of your box. Tape or glue on the box. You can use personalized photos on the labels or words, poems, a letter, or images from their clipart gallery. When you are done with that, fill the box with memories of that person. You could even spray it with a lovely scent. Do you have a fun memory related to a feather, seashell, sunflower seeds, or a rock? Toss that in. You could even include a journal and a pen. You can create a journal on the Avery website as well. Click here

Be creative, have fun and save your money for bills this year. Your friend will still know they are loved by the thought and effort you put into your very unique gift that no one could purchase at the store!

Great ideas! Gifts can mean so much more when they are hand made. And they are very resourceful especially during these hard times.
