Children under one are pretty easy to buy Christmas gifts for. They do not care too much or may not even realize what they are getting. They are often times too little to understand or realize what they have received for Christmas gifts. This is the prime time to buy them things that they need instead of things that they want. Once children start getting over the age of 2 and 3 they start wanting toys and realizing what they ask for and what they are getting as gifts. They start to know what they asked for that they did not receive and can be hurt by it. That is why you should get children under one year old, things that they need, take advantage of it, because it won't last forever.

TOY BOX: Most kids wouldn't be thrilled with a toy box for Christmas. It's just a simple box to put their toys in and they don't want to put their toys away anyway. So, why not get the child under one year old a toy box for their first Christmas. This way they will not have to get it in the future for Christmas, they will already have it, waiting for their new toys the following year.

MONETARY GIFTS: Savings bonds or college funds are a great thing to get a child under a year old for their first Christmas. The savings bonds and college funds will have plenty of time to grow and mature while they are growing up. Plus, they will not remember that they have the money. You can hide it from them until it matures or until they get old enough to cash it in this way.

BOOKS: If they child is getting close to being a year old, books are an excellent gift. It is never to early to start reading to a child, though sometimes older children do not like to get books for Christmas, a baby or one year old will love to hear you read their new book to them. They will also learn as you read to them. Get books that have fur or fuzz and textures on them so that the baby can feel it and learn through their sense of touch.

GIFT CARDS: You could also get the child a gift card. This gift would probably be used by the parent to get some needed clothing or shoes for the growing child. This type of gift can always be helpful to a parent.

LEARNING TOYS: There are many new kinds of toys out these days that are directed towards babys and one year olds. Many of these toys can help them grow and develop their senses, like hand, eye coordination. Leap frog, playschool, and other various name brands make excellent toys for babies to help them learn as they grow.
