Christmas Gifts for the PSP

A Little Something for Everyone!

Dana
Hand held video game systems are popular right now; expect to see the PSP on Christmas lists this year. The Sony PSP is great to take on vacation because it is not only for video games but movies are formatted for it as well. If you need help on what to buy for the PSP owner (or yourself!) in your family, this Christmas PSP guide is for you. I listed a variety of different game types that have had good reviews because everyone has their own personal taste in games. The ratings are found after the title of the game, keep in mind that rated M for Mature should definitely not be purchased for children.

1. God of War: The Chains of Olympus (M)

This game follows the mythical Kratos as during his time serving the Gods of Olympus. This is a prequel to God of War and it fits into the franchise nicely.

2. Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (E 10+)

Ratchet and Clank visit the PSP for the first time in this game. Size Matters gives you all new armor, vehicles and weapons; yet the old weapons are still available for your use. Up to 4 players can go head to head at once.

3. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 (T)

Create your own finisher. Play tag team matches... Game has easy controls. If you love WWE wrestling, this is the game to get.

4. N+ (E)

Play as a tiny ninja in N+ avoiding getting blown up, running and jumping. Simple graphics, a lot of fun and slightly addictive! A game everyone will love.

5. Socom: US Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo

This game is offered as one of its games in the Greatest Hits collection. This means it can usually be found under $20. For a beginner this is a good game to start with. Play is easy. The game supports multi-player online play complete with voice chat.

For the puzzle and arcade loving crowd; here is a short list for you as well! Along with these, crosswords, Sudoku and other games to work your mind are available at mass retailers and video game stores such as Game Stop.

All of the games in this section are rated E for Everyone.

1. Lemmings

Try and keep your lemmings from killing themselves. You control them and get them to develop different skills. Be careful, they have a penchant for wandering away!

2. Patapon

A strategy game where you collect armor, fight bosses and play mini-games.

3. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords

A fighting/puzzle game that has a storyline about kingdoms, evil and war. Art is anime style.

4. Loco Roco

Play as little yellow balls of fun. Cheery music, easy to play and simple controls.

5. Lumines II

If you liked Lumines, you'll love Lumines II.
