Christmas Gifts for Single Moms

Are you shopping for a single mom this holiday season? Wondering what should you get a single mom for Christmas that she can actually use? Now days many single mothers are struggling with paying rent, buying food and keeping the kids in daycare. Below are four gift ideas single moms would love to receive this year.

Grocery gift cards are always welcome to a family struggling to keep food on the table. As job joss and higher food costs it is harder than ever for a one income family to keep food on the table. For some this gift card may allow them to eat for a few extra days a month. Maybe the money they don't have to spend on food can go towards the light or gas bill this holiday season.

Another gift that all single moms would love is a coupon for a free day of babysitting. There is no mom out there that is going to turn down the offer to have a couple of hours of free time. This may give her a break from a very stressful day or take the worry out of who is going to watch the kids when I have to work on a weekend. The one thing most single moms do not get is time to spend alone. Many times the only alone time they get is when the kids are in bed at night. That time is usually filled with household chores or getting ready for the next day.

A bath basket is another idea a mom would love. Fill a basket with some bath oils, candles and a good book. This does not have to be expensive. Many stores have a small trial size section. A few items will make her day. A nice soak in the tub after a long hard day will be appreciated. She may actually put off the household chores one night to get some R&R time in.

If a gift for the whole family to enjoy is what you are looking for then a gift card to a movie theatre and a local fast food chain is perfect. Money is not usually spent on entertainment for the family. This gives them a treat to go out and enjoy the latest flick and enjoy lunch or dinner too.

Gifts for single moms do not have to expensive. In fact just giving her time to spend alone is the greatest gift of all. It means the world to a single mom to be remembered during the holiday season. Since most of the time she is doing everything she can for her children.
