How I love the colored lights;
Hanging from my tree;
They shine upon metallic balls;
Of red, blue, gold, and green;
There are several tiny snowmen;
Forest critters and Mickey Mouse;
Cardinals and a dozen candy canes;
Hanging from its boughs;
Small boxes of gift-wrapped chocolates;
Are tucked and hidden deep inside;
For when someone comes to call;
They get a sweet surprise;
On top is a porcelain angel;
Dressed in silky white;
The candle that she is holding;
Bathes her face in light;
A simple manger scene;
Sits on a table stand nearby;
While multi-colored candles;
Illuminate the night;
A trio of singing snowmen;
Stand guard beneath the tree;
Ornaments and holly;
Decorate the advent wreath;
Santa and his reindeer;
Are on the other side;
Preparing to take off;
On their yearly midnight ride;
A quartet of Angel musicians;
And little winter birds;
Sing the sweetest song of praise;
That the world has ever heard;
Greeting cards and best wishes;
Sent by family and friends;
All those holiday parties;
I wish would never end;
A forest fresh pine cone wreath;
Hangs a greeting on my front door;
Merry Christmas to you all;
From my simple home to yours;
Although I only see these things;
For six weeks of the year;
I do wish with all my heart;
That Christmas stays right here;
For sadness fills my soul;
When the holidays are over;
But I still have the memories;
That I can keep forever.

I love this. We get to spend our "Country Christmas" at my Sister-in-Law's this year in Lake City (on top of a beautiful mountain). This poem has many things I hold dear about Christmas time my self (but don't forget about the annual showing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas!)
What a fantastic poem! Beautifully done.

WOW! I enjoyed this very much. Such vivid imagery and undertones, like a painting with words. Well done.
