Christmas is here again and so are the spectacular lighting displays. Families from all over will be checking these out and enjoying the Christmas cheer that the lights give them. I can't remember a Christmas that I didn't go to one of these lighting spectacles at least once during the holiday season. It was a planned family outing every year. I hope this will help you plan a fun family outing event.

Zoo Lights is back with over 1 million lights that feature Santa, and his reindeers Dasher and Dancer. The excitement starts as you walk to the front entrance where there is a beautifully light Christmas Tree and then you will enter through a snowy entrance to a lit up courtyard. You will find light exhibits in the China Exhibit, rides area, and the Once Upon A Farm area. There will also be cookie decorating and holiday crafts that all can join in on. This is a can't miss lights display and the Zoo Light Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Zoo Lights starts on November 28, 2008.

Southern Lights in Southaven is lit up with over 1 million lights and is a grand lighting display set to Christmas Music. This is a great family event and you can drive through the displays. It starts on November 22,2008. Admission is $10 for cars, $15 for vans and hayrides, $25 for buses, and $5 for motorcycles. It is being held at Central Park and you will need to enter from the Tchulahoma Entrance.

Go see Graceland in lights this year on November 21 at dusk. The mansion will host special guest, country star, Martina McBride and, artist, Thomas KinKade. The amazing light display includes blue lights along the driveway to the mansion, Santa and his sleigh, and a large scale nativity scene. The inside of the mansion will be decked out in holiday style and décor. Martina McBride will help flip the switch for the lights and Thomas KinKade will be revealing his new piece titled "Graceland Christmas". The lighting ceremony is a free event but to see the inside you will have to take a paid tour. It is well worth the tour fee to see the inside of the mansion.

West Memphis is one of the stops on the 64 community long trail of lights through Arkansas. Watch the 45" Blue Spruce Tree come to life with light as Santa flips the switch on November 25. Along with the Christmas tree being lit up, there will be refreshments, carolers, and fireworks. Missouri and Broad Street come to life on December 4th with the Christmas Parade at 7pm. Enjoy a tour of the city in lights by horse drawn carriage on November 25-31.

I hope that your holidays will be safe and fun. Maybe you can make some of these annual Christmas Lighting Displays a family tradition for all to enjoy.
