Christmas Living Nativity in Claremont, California

Formerly the Drive-Through Nativity

The amazing, free "Living Nativity" (formerly known as the Drive-Through Nativity) takes place every year, for a limited engagement consisting of two weekends (only) in mid-December at the Granite Creek Community Church, 1580 N. Claremont Blvd., Claremont, California 91711. Join with other families Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings interacting among theatrical sets, as they come alive! For current year details, and directions to church location, call them at (909)625-4455 or visit their website at www.granitecreek.org.

Experience the Biblically authentic scenes, leading up to the birth of Christ, with actors and live animals, on ten different outdoor stages. If you plan to drive-through the Living Nativity, get in line early for performances begining promptly at 6:00 p.m. Prepare your kids, who will be greeted at the entrance by fully-suited, ominous Roman soldiers, who will instruct you to drive carefully into each scene, and then watch it come to life before your very eyes!

A large cast acts-out scriptural depictions, leading up to Mary, Joseph, and the birth of baby Jesus in His "living" animal manger. Your kids will love singing along with the angels, as they harmoniously join in announcing a newborn Savior and King to a grateful world.

Witness this gloriously authentic reenactment by taking a sneak-peak at their self-guided, slide-view showing online at www.granitecreek.org. The Granite Creek Community Church website describes their holiday pageant in greater detail.

"Experience the spirit of Christmas like never before, as you travel back in time 2,000 years to find yourself witnessing great moments in history. Watch the Christmas story unfold as the angel Gabriel appears to Mary, Caesar declares a census to be taken, the wisemen follow the star, and the Savior is born in a manger."

Guests are encouraged to stop by for dinner at the church café after the showings, and visit their Christmastime boutique (proceeds to benefit underprivileged children worldwide). Every year our family bundled up the kids, packed a dinner, and would be first in line by 5:00 p.m. to experience the annual interactive Christmas showings, beginning at 6:00 p.m., from the comfort of our heated minivan.

The Granite Creek Community Church Living Nativity holiday presentation was always the best, yet least expensive, holiday activity choice. I remember trying to hunt down church officials to make unsolicited (but gratefully accepted) $10.00 donations. This extraordinary holiday experience was always less expensive, and much more fun than dinner and a movie, to satisfy an unruly vanload of over-excited Christmas kids!
