I remember I was...

six or maybe seven,

'twas the first Christmas,

that Mommy was in heaven.

II

I remember it was bleak,

no one ever speak,

nor squealed in delight,

no gifts were in sight.

III

Daddy was so gloomy,

maybe he missed Mommy,

he then went out,

despite our "Daddy" shout.

IV

Since that Christmas day,

almost two-scores*away,

I know we have lost,

more than just Mommy.

*a score is a "group of 20" in numbers
