As we get closer to Thanksgiving, everyone is starting to get into the Holiday spirit. Along with fall football, another great staple for the home is a good supply of classic Christmas movies. Instead of waiting for your favorites to air on cable or satellite television so you can DVR them to watch with the family later, another great alternative is to find bargains on Christmas movie DVDs online! This article reviews five great Christmas DVDs that everyone should watch this season and shows you where to find the movies online without having to become a DVD reseller!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer staring Burl Ives and Billie Mae Richards is one the best Christmas DVDs of all time! Burl Ives narrates as Sam the Snowman who tells the story of a rejected reindeer who overcomes prejudice against him and saves Christmas one stormy year. Perhaps one of the few movies that grandparents through grandchildren will enjoy. It is on every year on network television, but you can pick this movie up for a great deal through Amazon.com selling for $7.50 new and $3.49 used.

Scrooged (1988)

Scrooged is more of a modern Christmas classic DVD coming out in the late 1980's. Staring Bill Murray and Karen Allen, the movie is a play on the traditional Scrooge movie theme, but set in modern times. The gist of the movie is that a ruthless tv-network chief meets the ghosts of Christmases past, present, and yet to come. The movie is rated PG-13, but if it was produced today it might only come out at the PG rating. A little more expensive than Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer, you can pick this great Christmas DVD up through Amazon.com used for $5.98 and new for $9.99

Frosty the Snowman/Frosty Returns (1969)

Yet another bargain Christmas DVD classic, you can find Frosty the Snowman / Frost Returns on Amazon at $7.75 new and $3.75 used. Jimmy Durante narrates the story which is based on the fact that a local schoolteacher who tries to make up the fact that her kids are in school on Christmas eve to them by hiring a magician to entertain the kids. When he utterly fails at entertaining the kids, they go out to build s snowman who comes to life when the magician's hat lands on his head. The story continues with the kids trying to save Frosty by getting him to the North Pole. Similar to Rudolph, this is another great Holiday classic that can be enjoyed by all generations this Holiday season.

Elf (Infinifilm Edition) (2003)

Elf is a Christmas comedy starring Will Ferrell which tells the story of a young orphan who accidentally crawls into Santa's bag of gifts on Christmas Eve and gets taken back to the North Pole to be raised as an elf. A number of years later, 'Buddy' figures out that he's not an elf and goes to New York City to learn his identity. A great film, and one to make part of your regular Christmas movie rotation! You can also get a great deal on this Christmas DVD through Amazon.com with used prices going as low as $3.99 and new at $7.99.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Perhaps the best Christmas Classic that everyone should own! Amazon carries Miracle on 34th Street new for $14.49 and used for $8.49. In case you haven't seen it, the general story line is about a Christmas fantasy of an old man who thinks he is Saint Nick and the positive change he brings to people around him. Definitely a steal for a movie that has been out for over 60 years and still widely popular!
