Christmas Movies and Music

Old Favorites and New Sounds

Michelle K. Miller
As Christmas nears, school kids and college students are on their breaks, and need something fun to do to pass away the time. When I was growing up, I enjoyed listening to Christmas music, and watching Christmas movies. Even now, I get giddy when I see that one of my beloved childhood Christmas movies is coming on the television.

Everyone has their favorite Christmas movies, and I wanted to share a list of must-see films this holiday (in my personal opinion):

1. Frosty the Snowman

2. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

3. To Grandmother's House We Go

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas

5. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

6. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

7. Home Alone

8. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

These are just a few of the beloved Christmas movies that I, myself, and others enjoy each holiday. If you haven't seen them, you should look into buying them on Amazon or renting them from Netflix.

As far as Christmas music goes, I do enjoy the old favorites by people like Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Bing Crosby. However, I enjoy old Christmas songs being sung by new people. As far as my search has gone, I have found one album that has had a mix of both. It's Volume 2 from the "Now! That's What I Call Christmas!" collection. The whole collection is nice, but volume two seemed to have the right combination, in my opinion.

So, when you're looking for something seasonal to do, check out these great movie, and the collection of albums listed above.
