The Christmas decorations at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center are just as spectacular as the shows they offer. This is the 25th year of celebrating a Country Christmas and the celebration began on November 13th with the lighting of nearly 2 million lights at the resort and convention center. This year CNN news anchor, Robin Meade had the honor of flipping the switch. Robin Meade was joined by Louise Mandrell, The Rockettes and Dr. Seuss' Grinch (the one who stole Christmas!).

Nashville is always a highly entertaining city and even more-so during the holidays. Visitors can enjoy such things as a trip to the famed Ryman Auditorium and Museum, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Opry Mills shopping in addition to or instead of the entertainment package offered. You might also enjoy a trip downtown to The District, which is located at 2nd Avenue and Church Street. Here you will find a variety of speciality shops, cafes and restaurants in beautifully restored 19th Century architecture.

There is also a Nashville City Tour and Home of the Stars Tour available for $95.95. This is a 6-8 hour tour which includes free pick-up and drop-off at most Nashville hotels. You will see the homes of Country Music Stars such as Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Dolly Parton, Little Jimmie Dickens, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and more. This tour also includes admission to The Country Music Hall of Fame and The Ryman Auditorium.

Typical Nashville weather temperatures in December range from highs in the 40s - 50s. So if you come for Christmas, dress appropriately for cooler weather. We typically don't have much snow, but everyone gets pretty excited when it does snow in Nashville.
