Suggestions of Games to Be Played at the Christmas Office Party

Heather Shockney
If you annual office party is coming up and you dread the thought of attending why not suggest a few fun games to lighten the party up. I don't know about you but I don't find an evening of sitting around listening to elevator Christmas carols to be all that entertaining. This year try something different and play a few Christmas office party games. You'll have everyone laughing and enjoying himself or herself in a very short time. Here are some Christmas office party games you can play.

Christmas Charades
Have everyone split off into two teams. Then have them each team take turns acting out a favorite Christmas movie, Christmas carol or a Christmas character. Have a few rounds and then the team that got the most right will win some type of small prize.

Christmas trivia
Make a worksheet of Christmas trivia questions. These can be questions about Christmas movies, traditions, Christmas history, or anything else related to the Christmas season. Have everyone take a shot at seeing how many they can get right .The one that gets the most wins a prize.

Christmas carol singing contest, this would be a great way to liven up an office Christmas party. Everyone can take turns showing their talent off while singing a favorite Christmas carol. You can have a few people judge the singers and then provide prizes for the best, the worst, funniest, most original etc.

Christmas Name that Tune. Play bits of Christmas songs and have everyone guess what they are. This could be a great Christmas office party game by getting everyone to participate. Have a prize for the guest that got the most right, and maybe a booby prize for the one that got the least.

Christmas carol Trivia, name a few words of a Christmas tune and have everyone try to guess which one it is or describe the song and have them guess the song you are referring to.

Who Am I? Have everyone ask questions like are you a person? Are you a thing? Make sure the answer is Christmas related. You could be Santa or The Sleigh, be creative.

Santa Hat Game, have everyone wear a Santa hat. Every so often remove your hat. Now everyone else is to remove his or hers as well the last person wearing theirs is the loser of the game. This could be a funny Christmas office party game in that people will become involved in other activities and conversations and forget to remove their hat.

Musical chairs, who says this is just a game for children. After a few drinks of wine or champagne this game could be lots of fun. Have everyone sit in a chair, then start the Christmas music and have them all walk around the chairs. Take away one of the chairs. Suddenly stop the music and see without a seat. Continue until there is only one person left.

Gift Wrap Game; wrap a present in several layers of wrapping paper. Have everyone sit in a circle. Now pass the gift around while you play music. Stop the music and the person left holding the package has to remove a layer of wrapping paper. The person that unwraps the last layer of wrapping paper gets to keep the gift.

These are just a few games that could be played at your office Christmas party. Get some cheap prizes and a few booby prizes and you will be all set for a good time of fun and laughter at your next Christmas office party. You could suggest everyone attending bring a small gift to be used as a prize. Get everyone involved in the Christmas office party games and it will be a party to remember.
