Mini Wreaths
A simple garden ornament can be made using vines and stems of plants you have trimmed for the winter. This garden ornament will utilize waste that you would normally discard while providing beauty for your Christmas decor.
Simply gather some vines, stems, and branches from your garden. If they are still wet they will be easier to bend, but you can use dry pieces as well. Simply gather the vines and wrap them into a small circle. Use wire to secure the circle, and add a bow with ribbon to cover the wire. These mini wreaths can be hung on your tree or any other place in your home to bring the garden indoors for the winter.
Pressed Flowers
Another pretty garden ornament can be made using pressed flowers. Simply press your flowers in a book after they have bloomed and save for the holiday season. Then water down some glue and use a paint brush to lightly cover the back of the flower. Press it gently to a piece of white cardboard. Cover the top with a clear piece of plastic and glue the edges to secure it. Glue a piece of ribbon to the top of the cardboard to complete the ornament.
Garden Balls
To create a unique garden ornament you will need a clear plastic ornament ball. You will also need some small items from your garden. Vines, branches, flowers, dried leaves, and other natural garden elements are perfect. Simply remove the top of the ornament and place the items inside. You can also add some glitter, beads, or other small trinkets.
Garden Pigment Ornament
For this fun Christmas ornament you will need different herbs and flowers from your garden. You also need spray clear coat, a clear ornament ball, and a coffee grinder. Start by grinding up the flowers and herbs to make different colored powders. Then spray inside the ball and place some of the different colored powders inside the ball. Swirl the ball around to make different colored patterns.
Using garden items to make ornaments for Christmas is a great way to bring your garden into your Christmas decorating theme. These ornaments are easy to make and add that special touch to your home.
