Creating a fun party atmosphere for children isn't hard. Here are three great ideas to get you started on your own Christmas party blow out. One great idea to try would be using Christmas stockings for an interesting memory game. I call this game - Can You Remember It? Here's a list of items you'll need.
Three Christmas stockings
15 different sized simple small toys and knickknacks
A blindfold
With Adult supervision, divide the children into age appropriate groups and let the children look at all the different toys/knickknacks. The supervising adult then as the children turn their backs, then fills each stocking with the different toys. After the stockings are filled, the adult then empties each stocking briefly to let the children see what's in the stocking. The children then take turns guessing to see who remembers what was in each stocking, the child/children who remember the most get to keep one of the stockings. These simple items can be purchased at any 99 cent store.
Here's a idea for another cheap, yet fun Christmas game you can play with your kids this Christmas. It's called Christmas around the World. It's a fun way to learn geography and about different cultures. Here's what you'll need:
A blindfold
A World map
A small marker
And several different kinds of ethnic hats such as Danish, Spanish, etc
With Adult supervision, each child takes turns being blindfolded and they are taken to the map where they then randomly pick a spot on the map. With blindfold removed, the child is given a hat that matches the part of the world they choose the best and they then briefly describe what they know about that part of the world. The child with the most accurate and fun description gets to keep their world hat.
Last, but not least is an Classic favourite given a new twist and will appeal to both young and old. It's great for children who can already walk and who also know not to eat tacks. It's Pin the Nose on the Snowman.
You'll need:
A large cut out of a Snowman
A set of separate bright red noses
A Blindfold
Tape the Snowman to a wall and then blindfold each child letting them try to pin their nose on the Snowman. The one closest wins a small gift prize. You can find these items at any 99 cent store.
These are just a few ideas that you can do tonight to help create wonderful holiday memories for a child, the only limits are your imagination with Christmas Party games for kids. Have fun!
