Pin The Nose On Rudolph
Similar to Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Put a drawing of a reindeer on the wall, (minus it's nose, of course), and give each child a red "nose" with tape on the back of it. One by one, blindfold each child and spin them around a few times, and then let them try to get their nose onto the proper place on Rudolph's face. The child who comes closest to the correct position wins.
Santa Says
Similar to Simon Says. An adult calls out instructions; Santa says touch your nose, Santa says raise your hand, etc. and the children follow those instructions. At some point the adult must make a command that does NOT include the words "Santa says". The children should not follow that command, (because Santa didn't say to), and anyone who does is "out". Keep going until only one person is still in the game. That person is the winner.
Sandbag Santa
Draw or paint a Santa face on a piece of wood or stiff cardboard. Cut an opening where Santa's mouth goes, and then lean it against a wall so that there is open space behind Santa's mouth. Have the children take turns "feeding" Santa by tossing sandbags, beanbags, or Christmas candy into his mouth. The child who gets the most items into Santa's mouth is the winner.
Snowballs
Give each child a Santa hat. Have them stand in a circle, holding their hats, and the have a grown-up spill out a box of "snow" (Styrofoam packing peanuts) into the middle of the circle. All the children must scramble to pick up the snowballs and fill their hats with it. The first child to fill their hat and holler out "Snowman!" is the winner.
Reindeer Games
Have each other children stand on their hands and knees, pretending to be reindeer. Put all the children on one end of the room, and on the other end, (several feet away from the wall), put an object to represent the North Pole. When an adult calls out "Go!" all the 'reindeer' race as fast as they can on four legs to the North Pole. They must each run around the pole, and then return to their starting point. They first one back to the starting position is the winner, and receives a reindeer treat (cookies, or some other kind of goodies to eat).
Always remember that everyone is a winner, and have a safe, happy holiday!
