The best thing you can do is have a budget for the whole party including the invitations. Remember to include any postage for your budget and any envelopes you will need to buy. Include all of the necessary info and the methods of RSVP.
Emailing your invitations is probably the easiest and cheapest way to send your invitations. You won't need any postage, envelopes, or even any artistry. Your invitations can be as simple or complicated as you would like. Add clip art, different fonts, and different font sizes.
Printing your own invitations on your home computer is also economical. You may still have to buy your own envelopes at your local card store. Hoover Web Design has a fancy Christmas tree design for an invitation that you can print in color. It will also work well in black and white even if the original template is in color. Fold it over twice and add your own text.
Make your own invitations from card stock. Choose red, green, or white card stock and add stickers, felt or foam pieces cut into Christmas designs such as trees, stars, and snowmen. Use a fancy pen to add your own personal script to the invitations. Add a clever logo to the back of the card that says "created especially by..." to have the last little bit of personal touch to the invitations.
If any of these options are not for you then you can buy a simple batch of white card stock and write a simple and elegant Christmas party invitation. If artistry is not your forte then adding simple Christmas stickers to the white background will be sufficient around the necessary items in your invitations.
Buying simple invitations from Wal Mart or Target is always an option. Target has a set of twelve with envelopes for $16.19 that has a stylized Christmas tree and red envelopes with stickers to seal them.
Christmas invitations can be both simple and elegant no matter what you choose to do for your Christmas party. Many options are available to you that are inexpensive if you want to keep your invitations on the lower end of your spending spectrum.
