Christmas Party Themes

Denise
If you are going to throw a party this holiday season, here are a few ideas that are a lot of fun and can probably inspire you to come up with great one's of your own!

Season Sharing Brunch
There are a lot of people who have nothing at this time of the year. You can get all of your friends together, and have each one bring something they can donate to others. Eat, drink and be merry together as you create gift baskets for those less fortunate. When all the baskets are made, you can deliver them to your local Salvation Army, church, or any other place where you can help others in need. Foods you can prepare to go with this theme are: Christmas Bread, Apple Cider, Fruit Assortment Plate, Santa sugar cookies, gum drop Christmas trees, and your choice of meat-real or vegetarian.

Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol
Have all your guest come dressed up as a character from A Christmas Carol. You can re-enact a scene from the play, sing songs from the musical and decorate your home like England in the 1800's. If you'd like, you can have someone dress up and act like Charles Dickens and he can read A Christmas Carol! Foods you can prepare to go with this theme are: Gingerbread, Christmas pudding, roast beef, ham, cookies, salad, apple cider, mince pies, biscuits and jelly, ice cream.

Christmas In Another Country
I read about a couple who went to another couples home for a Christmas in Scotland party. The people invited had to come dressed up like Scots and go to the 'castle'. The castle was none other than the den! It was all made up to look like a Scottish castle during Christmas. So why not choose a place you'd rather be on Christmas, and turn a room in your house into Paris, Sweden, Greece or wherever you want! Serve food of the country that you will be celebrating.

Fantasy Christmas
If you are a lover of fantasy, you can decorate a room of your home to look like a fairy kingdom or choose a favorite book, and have guests dress up as those characters. For the food, take your favorites and use food coloring to change them and make them different to seem as if it is from a real fantasy world! Some fantasy themes could be, Narnia, The Hobbit, The Earthsea Trilogy, The Dragonlance Saga, The Shannara Series, or the Chronicles of Prydain. These are my picks for fresh ideas to try out for this holiday season. Did I spark you imagination to come up with more?
