Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Christmas in Pendleton: Snow Days and Santa Claus Arrives
Neighborhood: Pendleton
Pendleton, IN 46013
United States of America
Last year we visited the Christmas in Pendleton Festival to check out the town we knew we were interested in moving to. it was like being transported back in time to small town USA with a New England spin. The streets were lined with the usual fine assortment of holiday craft booths and tasty treats abounded, including tall cups of steaming hot cocoa and whipped cream.

The streets had been filled with "mechanically derived snow". I guess they trucked in a ton of snow machines to bring snow to Pendleton for their annual Christmas prelude festival. After all, Santa needs snow for his sleigh!
And sure enough at 1:00 he arrived in full regalia driving down the city streets to be greeted by thousands of children of all ages.

It was a delightful afternoon and sure put us in the mood for Christmas shopping and holiday cheer. Which is exactly what the cute shoppes in Pendleton Indiana wanted you to do! I highly recommend a return visit and will be there this Saturday to greet Santa along with all his other adoring fans.

This year's Christmas in Pendleton is on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday with all the above wonders still planned and a lot of fun activities including snow ball fights, snow man contests, and special entertainment throughout the day.

Pendleton Indiana is located off of Interstate 69 and Highway 38, just north of Indianapolis. It's a beatifully preserved historical neighborhoods city with picturesque Fall Creek winding through the downtown area. Dating back to its beginnings in 1820, Pendleton has long considered its history as key to its future and worked hard to maintain a balance between the two. Beautifully restored historic homes and downtown couple with some pretty nice modern faciltiies and infrastructure to make it a beautiful and warm community of around 35,000 citizens.

I can't think of a better place for Santa to be this Saturday.

Sounds fun! Christmas celebrations seem to be starting early this year, and that's okay. :) Someone on my street put out holiday lights yesterday. I guess the time to do it is while the weather is still decent. I'm really looking forward to putting up my tree.
