November 25: The community is invited to the third annual Lighting of the Tree ceremony at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Lybyer Technology Center on the MSU-WP campus. Elementary school children will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Renee Moore's Child and Family Development students making craft items prior to the start of the ceremony. Everyone will enjoy cookies and hot cocoa. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for Samaritan Outreach Center . For more details, call 255.7240.

November 28 & 29: A variety show, "Home for the Holidays," will be at the Avenue Theatre at 7 p.m. The music is directed by Kelly Dame and dancers by Pam Burnside. The one-act play, "I'll Be Cloned for Christmas" is under the direction of Terry Hampton. Admission is $5.

December 1: The West Plains Community Band and the Oz arks Festival Chorus will be joined by a host of musical groups from the community to present a "Holiday Extravaganza." The concert begins at 7 p.m. FREE! For details, contact JenniferWalker@MissouriState.edu or 417-255-7966.

December 2: The 19th Annual Lights of Life Christmas Tree will be lit in OMC's main lobby at 5:30p.m. The ceremony will include a performance by the OMC Singers. For more information, or to donate to the Lights of Life, call 257-5700.

December 6: The Country Legends Tribute Christmas Concert featuring Sunny Aaron will be held in the WP Civic Center Theatre at 7 p.m.

December 7: A Celebration of the Season Concert will be performed by the MSU Community Band from Springfield and the Oz arks Festival Chorus of West Plains at the WP Civic Center from 3-4 p.m. FREE! For details, contact JenniferWalker@MissouriState.edu or 417-255-7966.

December 9: The Boys of the Lough will present "A Celtic Christmas" at the West Plains Civic Center at 7 p.m. Admission is $7 adults and $5 for seniors and students. For details, contact JenniferWalker@MissouriState.edu or 417-255-7966.

December 13: The West Plains Christmas Parade, "Christmas Around the World," will travel down Porter Wagoner Boulevard at 1 p.m. Contact 256-4433.

December 13: The West Plains Center for the Arts will present "A Country Christmas" dance performance at 4 p.m. at the Avenue Theatre. This annual event is free and open to the public.
