Christmas for Your Pets

PennyB
While you're remembering all your friends and loved ones during your holiday shopping, be sure not to forget your pets. They give us so much unconditional love, affection and companionship throughout the year, it would be a shame not to give them a little something back. Be sure that Santa leaves them a nice gift under the tree as well.

Gift Ideas For Your Feline Companions:

- A bag of treats for when they're good,

- Cat nip or cat nip toy for energy,

- A scratching post to help save your furniture,

- A new cozy bed,

- A kitty condo,

- Toys to help keep them active and playful,

- A plush toy for them to cuddle up to when you're not home,

- Collar with an ID tag and/or harness to keep them safe when they're outdoors,

- A new food and water dish set.

Gift Ideas For Your Best Friend and Companion... Your Dog:

- Treats,

- Chew toys so they're not chewing on the furniture or your favorite slippers (they're probably due for some new chew toys),

- A new doggy bed,

- A plush toy for them to play with (and chew apart instead of your furniture or shoes),

- A collar and leash (possibly as a reminder to you that your beloved pet needs his regular daily exercise),

- ID tags to keep them safe should they stray and get lost,

- Crates and carriers,

- Food and water dish set,

- Fashion outfits for the fashion minded puppy or dog.

Gift Ideas For Pet Mice, Hamsters or Guinea Pigs:

- An exercise wheel for their cage,

- Cage extensions to give them more room to nest and roam,

- Exercise ball so they can explore freely and safely around the house,

- Toys to keep them occupied while in their cages,

- A small plush toy for them to cuddle up to in their cage on cool winter nights.

Gift Ideas For Fish:

- It might be time for a new (and possibly bigger) aquarium that gives them more room to swim around in,

- Some new fish "friends" (being sure that the species can cohabitate and not become food for one another),

- Plants and ornaments to beautify their aquarium as well as for them to swim around and hide,

- A good supply of fish food,

- Pumps/heaters/filters for the aquarium to always ensure they'll have a clean, happy home and a long life.

Gift Ideas for Your Reptilian Friends:

- Your pet snake, turtle or lizard might need a bigger aquarium if they've grown out of the old one,

- They may need new branches or items for them to climb or curl around,

- Wood shavings or sand for them to nest in,

- Extra food treats.

Gift Ideas For Your Feathered Friends :

- Possibly a new and bigger cage so they can move around more freely,

- Small bird toys to keep them occupied,

- Gravel for the bottom of their cage,

- A cage mirror for them to admire themselves (or possibly think they have a friend there with them),

- Extra bird seed for a treat.

These are just a few suggestions. You're sure to find a vast array of gift ideas at any quality pet store or pet section of your favorite department store

No matter what your choice of pet is, they deserve to feel a part of the family during the holidays. It only seems fitting to add them to your Christmas gift list, so check out your nearest pet store, while you're out doing your Christmas shopping.
