Christmas Poem, a Kids Christmas Wish

Katie Sharp-Dierks
On Christmas morning,

I'll jump out of bed,

Running frantically to see,

Did Santa leave me any presents,

Under my brightly decorated tree?

Mommy and Daddy just laughed,

When I asked them how he gets in,

How do the reindeer fly,

How much older than grampa he is,

And whether he'll know how good I've been?

I had so much fun on Christmas Eve,

Helping Grandma make cookies for Santa,

Wrapping presents for my cousins,

Checking my wishlist just in case I forgot my favorite toy,

And watching the clouds for signs of a fresh Christmas snow.

All the houses on my street,

Are lit up and bright,

Showing dear Santa and his reindeer where to set down at night,

And right before I lay down to sleep,

I ask Santa one more thing.

Santa, please oh please,

Give us peace on earth,

And time to be with our families.

Toys can wait til next year!
