Christmas Poetry

Everyone Loves to Be Remembered During the Holidays

Christmas Cheer

Christmas is almost here
It is time for the festivities
Let's bring in the cheer!

Christmas is quickly here
It is time to chill the glass mugs
Then fill them up with beer!

Mistletoe

A drunken frolic we
Do not need
For mistletoe is here.

To simulate the tipsiness
That causes us
Frolic that costs quite dear.

Wassail

Spiced wine
Is just fine
Christmastime.

Fancy party
Let's do a dance
Christmastime.

Gift Wrap

The cat has got the ribbon
The puppy is in the box
The bird is pecking the gift wrap.
It's Christmas for the flock!

The kids are making pinwheels
From used gift paper wrap
The hamster is shredding tin foil
It's Christmas for the flock!

Gingerbread

I'll make the house
You cut the cookies
Into shapes
While the oven heats
We can bake
Cookies
That go into a jar.

It's Christmastime at last!
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

You bend the legs
and arms
Into poses
While we bake a house
We can make
Cookies
That nobody will eat.

It's Christmas time at last!
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

Christmas approaches too quickly Desert sunrise too pale Lizards slowly climb along the neon Waiting to crawl inside No stockings hang along the sidewalk For the wildlife Litter gives holiday colors to concrete Red, green and more
