Christmas Riches Settle the Heart

Sheri Fresonke Harper

When the cold winds howl wild and long

a fire, a blanket, and love wrap around,

a soft friend to cuddle makes teddy a winner

through the long dark night of lonely winter

someone to talk to who can make you laugh

a Santa's ho-ho-ho, a reindeer's goofy nose

or make your heart sing high with the angels

is a present wrapped in the tissue

of a comfy, foggy tree, all serving to silence,

all blazing with love seen on a newborn's face,

all contributing to our greatest riches,

surrendering all doubts in the safety of home.

Every year I write a Christmas poem for my friends and send it out, this is the Christmas poem for 2011.

And a beautiful Christmas poem it is. You are very talented and sensitive. Loved your article and tried to leave a message on it about education. Don't remember the title now, but I relate to it about writing what we need to and how we feel etc.
