Christmas Scams

Safety tips to keep yourself safe during the holiday season. I know that there are a million things on your mind right now with the hectic season upon us. However take a few minutes to think safety when you are out and about. Your family would really like for you to be healthy and whole during the season so here are a few security tools that you can use while you are out and about.

A CELL PHONE. Almost everyone has one, it only helps if it is charged and with you!

Keep emergency numbers logged into your phone, Insurance company, Roadside emergency services, House sitter, family members and coworkers

Enter ICE (In Case of Emergency) an acronym cell phone users can enter into their cell directory to identify a primary contact, such as next of kin for EMS or police to use in an emergency situation.

If you are traveling, log in the hotel and rental car numbers

Don't leave valuable items, gifts, or other items thieves may want, visible to people walking by your car. Store your valuables in the trunk of your car.

Never, ever leave your keys in your car while you quickly run into a store or to do some errand.

Be sure to close the windows and lock your car, even if you are only stopping for a few minutes.

Be aware that car thieves are very fast, it only takes a moment for them to steal your car.

Be aware of Holiday Parking Lot Scams, look for the parking lot peddler involves people driving parked in neighborhood malls displaying signs advertising very expensive, high quality equipment, jewelry, artwork and furniture for discount prices. You will be a victim of a scam! They have your cash, they are long gone before you realize that the stuff you bought is either defective, counterfeit or very low quality.

Be aware of the helpful drive that will help you back out of your parking place. SCAM is written all over this scenario, the helpful drive helps you back out of a parking space by waving you out, and then runs into your car himself or works with a partner who collides with you. In this way, they set you up for robbery or use the accident as a way of obtaining your personal information for later use. Be careful there are ruthless people out there.
