This is the person who always has the latest technology, buy a new outfit every payday and spends their weekends in the mall. Meeting the Christmas 'needs' of such a person can be quite difficult. Here are just a few ideas to get you through:
Buy them a gift certificate. Gift certificates can be a shoppers best friend. They take the 'thinking' out of shopping. All you need to do is find out where a person likes to shop and you are good to go. Buying them a gift certificate to their favorite store mean your friend or family member gets to go into the store and choose exactly what they want.
Since almost every store sells them, gift certificates will be easy to access. You simply need to decide on the dollar amount you want to spend on a person and pay for the certificate. Your gift will please it's owner and you will be stress free!
Give them cash. As great as gift certificates are, cash may be even better. The advantage of giving cash is that the person can use it however they wish. They can go shopping at whatever store they like, or they can use for a need such as paying for a bill or save it for later. The only real downside to giving cash is that it takes away the excitement of opening a gift. Of course you can always buy a card to stick it in, but it won't be the same as tearing though wrapping paper. Make sure you consider the person you are giving to when deciding to give cash.
Ask them what they want. Again this option takes some of the excitement out of giving. However asking a person upfront what they want can rid you of lots of stress. We often take for granted that some people don't mind telling you exactly what they want. Consider getting them to tell you a few thing that they want. At least this way they won't know exactly what you plan to buy them.
Focus on their needs. Often people buy what they want and not what they need. During this shopping season, think about the needs of your family and friends. What are the things they need but maybe often don't buy. This could include items for their home, their job, for school, or for their children.
Maybe you know a person who hasn't taken a vacation in a while. Maybe you know someone who could use some help with babysitting. Determine the needs of the person you are shopping for and focus on them when shopping.
Don't stress. At the end of the day, if you are shopping for a person who you truly feel has it all, you shouldn't waist your time worrying. Buy them what you think they will like and move on. Chances are, if there is something they truly want, they will get it eventually.
