It's never too early to start Christmas shopping. If you adore the mad rush on Christmas Eve, however, you do not need to have to read this article. Here are some ways to avoid the madness, save on buying gifts and safety.

Plan Ahead
The worst thing anyone can do is wait until December to start buying their gifts. In my opinion, even November is kind of late. Start looking for gifts towards the end of the summer and hide everything away until it's time to start wrapping. Also decide how much money that you are going to spend on gifts. Stick with that number and don't go over that limit no matter what!

Don't Use Credit Cards
Unless you are super rich and have money to burn, don't use credit cards around the holiday season unless you can pay the entire balance back when the bill comes in. Most likely, you already have a balance on there, and you really don't want to add to that. If you really need to buy some gifts that require a credit card so you don't have to carry around a lot of cash, save the cash first before you go shopping so when the bill comes in, you can pay off the entire balance.

Don't Shop Alone And In The Dark
The holiday times are really bad. There are a lot of people who can't afford to give themselves anything much less their loved ones any gifts, and so they will gladly steal from you. Where I live, people are mugged in the malls. So it's best to shop with someone, and in the daytime instead of at night. If you work, wait until the weekend, and get there early around opening time, to avoid a big crowd.

Shopping Online
The weather is bad and you have to stay in, or you are just simply too tired to go to a store. Don't go anywhere to shop online. I always stick to the web stores that I can trust. Nothing can hurt more than someone stealing your account information.

Don't Know What To Buy? Give Money Instead
Sometimes you have a really huge family and relatives that you buy for, if you are stumped on what to give them this year, or if their wants are too costly, give them money or a gift card instead. It will make much less work for you, and please the one receiving it so they can get whatever they like.

Buy During Sales
You can save a lot of money to buy gifts when you buy whenever there is a sale. Read the papers, talk to people you know so you are aware of when you can catch one.
