Christmas Spirit Poem

Is the Christmas Spirit Down a Bit This Year?

Major Jester
Few festive lights cast their glow
In neighborhoods once well lit
Why so few I want to know
Has Christmas cheer received a hit?

Dollars gone where once were found
All things high, cash in retreat
No clever cure is to be found
Many struggle to make ends meet.

Clichés spill in normal fashion
Uttered without thought or cheer
But speak them with a new found passion
It takes not much to be sincere.

Think again about your season
Perhaps apply a different ploy
More than one can be the reason
To increase your Love with Joy.

This year's 'Christmas' may yield less
With fewer things under a tree
But realize we all are Bless'd
If we are wise enough to see.

'This year's 'Christmas' may yield less
With fewer things under a tree
But realize we all are Bless'd'...ahhh, the holiday spirit in four short lines.
If we are wise enough to see.

This is positively brilliant, Major. It is easily one of best Christmas poems I've ever read.
