Christmas Stores in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

Decorative and Gift Items

Gayle Parks
I recently had the opportunity to explore downtown Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and visited several small shops. Below I have reviewed three of these shops that offer Christmas themed items as well as gift items and collectibles. I enjoyed all of these shops and found them to be cozy, friendly and full of charm. If you find yourself in or near downtown Chambersburg between now and Christmas you really should stop in at all of these shops to hunt for Christmas gifts, decorations and treasures of all kinds. You will be hard pressed not to catch the Christmas spirit.

Gypsie

717-263-0203

21 North Main

This little shop is located near the intersection of North Main and Lincoln Way. Also known as Philadelphia Ave (Rte. 11) and Rte. 30. Look here for vintage Christmas ornaments, scented PaddyWax candles, gourmet cookies and food items including Barefoot Contessa Pantry items and Stonewall Kitchen Teas and Jams. They also offered several antique furniture pieces. Very cute, if very small, shop with friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.

The Gift Enclosure

717-264-1695

78 South Main Street

Located near the intersection of North Main and West Queen Street and open only during week days, this little shop offers Byers' Choice Carolers, Cat's Meow Village pieces, various Crabtree and Evelyn items, jewelry, pottery, Vera Bradley Handbags as well as Yankee Candles. Friendly, personal service and they offer free gift wrapping. Also, a friendly feline in residence.

Salvation Army Thrift Store

717-264-6169

159 Lincoln Way West

If you are crafty or just like vintage style without the swanky "vintage" price then the Salvation Army Thrift Store may be just what you have been looking for. This store offers used, but decent, clothing, housewares, glassware and this time of the year plenty of Christmas items. On my visit last week, I found dozens of old glass ornaments ranging in price from 59 cents to just a few dollars. I also spied several Home Interiors framed art prints that appeared to be in excellent condition priced well below what you would pay on ebay. Also, lots of baskets that would be perfect for gift basket type of gifts. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Downtown Chambersburg is a quiet, cozy place to shop and you will surely find some one-of-a-kind treasures. Visit these three shops as well as others located along the way and enjoy the old fashioned downtown feel. Merry Christmas!
