Christmas Superstitions Can Have an Effect on Your Love Life

Christmas Superstitions Can Tell You Who Your Future Spouse Will Be

A.Kirk
Many people view the Valentine's Day Holiday as the only one associated with love. They fail to realize all the superstitions that surround Christmas that involve love as well. There are many superstitions during the Christmas holiday season regarding your love life. Many of these rumors supposedly will allow you to see a vision of your future spouse. Whether you believe in these superstitions or not is something for you to decide upon for yourself, but they are believed by many throughout the world.

The Dumb Cake

There are two different rumors about the preparation of dumb cakes during the holiday season. For both of these superstitions though, the dumb cake must be made at midnight on Christmas Eve. A dumb cake is prepared using the ingredients of water, eggs and salt.

One rumor indicates that the initials of one person in the room is pricked into the cake, and then it is placed on the hearthstone with absolute silence. If the silence is maintained a spirit will prick the initials of that person's future spouse into the cake.

Another rumor involving the dumb cake is if after preparing it and eating it if you walk backwards to your bed you will dream of your future spouse.

Holly Leaves

Other common superstitions involving love and the Christmas holiday season involve the use of holly leaves and going to bed. One of the simpler superstitions involves tying holly sprigs to each led of your bed. You must then eat a roasted apple. If you do this, then in your dreams you will hear the voice of your future spouse while you sleep that evening.

Another one involves taking three holly leaves and using a pin to prick the initials of three people you feel would be possible future spouses in the leaves. Put these under your pillow, and during the night as you sleep you will dream about the one that will be your future spouse.

The Christmas Pudding

There is also a superstition during the holiday season about bad luck for your love life. If there is Christmas pudding is served at the dinner you attend, everyone is supposed to stir the pot at least three times. The superstition is if you are a single female and you fail to participate in the stirring of the Christmas pudding properly, then you will have no chance of finding your future husband in the next year.

Many people don't believe in superstitions, but on the other hand many others do. For those of you that believe in superstitions these are some to consider during the holiday season. For those of you that don't believe in them, at least these might have provided a form of entertainment and a laugh for you.
