Tis the season to be dramatic in Cleveland, Ohio as it's robust theater community gears up to entertain young and old alike this holiday season. While the kids are off for winter break the community has come together to provide children ample chances to experience the theatrical arts. Here are five of the best offerings this Christmas.

Scrooge! The Musical " Cassidy Theater in Parma Heights

This stage adaptation of the popular movie musical version of Charles Dickens's classic features the Oscar nominated 'Thank You Very Much.' Other songs include 'Thank You Very Much,' 'December the 25th,' and 'Father Christmas.' Featuring a cast of forty, the Cassidy Theater has been working on the production since September. While younger children might be frightened by the ominous Ghost of Christmas Future, children aged 7 and up will thrill to the tale of Scrooge's redemption.

A Christmas Carol - Ohio Theater at Playhouse Square

A straight play adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. This year marks the 20th year for the acclaimed production, known as a seasonal tradition in Northeast Ohio. With plenty of energy and experience the cast will thrill children of all ages. If your child isn't a fan of musicals this is the Dickens show for you.

Lira Ensemble - A Polish Christmas - State Theater at Playhouse Square

The Lira Ensemble is the premier group of Polish musicians in the country. They bring their unique brand of song and dance to Cleveland again this year, but the show is completely different than last year. It features Polish Carols and compositions by Polish composers Frederic Chopin, Stanislaw Moniuszko, Henryk Wieniawski, and Witold Lutoslawski along with Polish folk songs and dances from all around Poland. All numbers are performed in authentic polish folk garb from the region the song originated from. A multi-cultural Christmas for your family. And don't worry if you don't speak polish - all narration is in English.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular - State Theater at Playhouse Square

Staring actual Rockettes from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular features the Rockettes' signature kick line as they perform to classic Christmas songs like 'New York at Christmas' and 'Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.' Also features the magical 'Living Nativity' and Santa swooping over the audience in his Christmas Sleigh. Help your child feel the magic of Christmas without trekking all the way to NYC.

The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller by Chip Davis - Palace Theater at Playhouse Square

It just isn't Christmas without the music of Mannheim Steamroller. Weather it's the spiritual journey of 'Carol of the Bells,' or the jubilant joy of 'Holly Jolly Christmas,' your children will squeal with delight at the powerful musicianship led by Steamroller founder Chip Davis. Mom and Dad will feel like kids themselves.
